Online Training Focused on Technical Language, Bilateral Exchange and Informal Communication Skills for Austrian Public Administration

Inhalt und Ziele

This course aims to enhance participants' proficiency in Business English with a specific focus on effective communication in professional settings and meetings. Using Berlitz's communicative method, the course combines structured language instruction with the flexibility to adapt content based on participants' specific needs or preferred topics. Through this approach, learners will improve their language skills for real-world applications, fostering confidence and fluency in English within their professional environments.

Topics & activities:

  • Business communication strategies and vocabulary development
  • Effective meeting language, including agenda-setting, discussions, and decision-making
  • Presentation skills, emphasizing clarity and professionalism
  • Role-playing for negotiation, conflict resolution, and collaborative problem-solving
  • Functional language for expressing opinions, giving feedback, and summarizing key points

Lernmethode

  • Interactive, participant-centered learning through the Berlitz method, focusing on speaking and active participation
  • Adaptable session structure allowing for real-time tailoring to participant needs or specific work-related scenarios
  • Use of Business English Level 8 Express and Meetings 5-8 (2018) material as core resources, providing 20 units each to support structured learning and practice
  • Ongoing feedback and assessments to track progress and address any emerging language needs

There are 2 separate parts to this course. You can come to one or both parts. Please register separately for each part. NB: This course is the same as “Professional English for Civil Service: Specialized Communication and International Relations” on Fridays.

Technical requirements:

  • PC / laptop / tablet / smartphone (possibly private) with camera and microphone as well as internet access, headphones are recommended
